Paul "Logic Man" Sandoval
As a kid from a family of eight in a two bedroom house in a poor Catholic neighborhood Paul "Logic Man" Sandoval found that the only place he had to himself without the hordes of siblings and other kids was on his front porch at dawn. There he tapped out rhythms and made up tunes in peace and quiet.
When he was ten Paul bought a very funky guitar from his dad, and hung out with it like it was his best friend.
It took years for Paul to teach himself how to play chords, and when he was thirteen he wrote the first song that he can still remember. Yeah, it sounds juvenile today, but he still plays it.
At twenty-one Paul left Denver looking for fame and fortune. Perhaps he should have gone to Los Angeles but instead ended up in San Francisco... somewhere between L.A. and nowhere.
Over the years Paul wrote songs and played in many clubs, but never found happiness in either music or love. His songs reflected this and anyone who sat through an evening of his songs risked being, to quote Paul himself, "terminally depressed".
Then at age 37 Paul met the love of his life. She taught him how to live, and for years now his new songs have been a joy to sing.
Quoting Paul again... "So I can honestly say that there are two eras to my music: The pre-bliss, slit-my-wrist, love-is-like-having-the-flu era. The post-bliss, inner-child, love-is-like-a-fine-wine era."
Now Paul truly has something to say ... and says it best with his music.
Eternally of a logical turn of mind, Paul often wonders why his fellow Americans insist on driving on parkways and parking on driveways.
